Day 26: Needed this like another hole in my head...

Well I'm pretty much still down for the count from the brain surgery. The good news is that it's highly likley I'll still be able to play the drums and remember most of your last names. I'm pretty happy about those odds.

Just kidding... everything went well and I can sill smile, sign my name, and touch my fingers to my nose (and this is the battery of hospital tests that apparently offer insight into a successful procedure.)

In the interim, my wife has been able to post some great photos and updates at http://candacesmartt.blogspot.com and I encourage you to follow her blog as well, since she has a better (and often more candid) commentarty on this whole cancer journey. The direct link itself is at the bottom-left of this page.

I will do my best to udpate tomorrow, once my brain fires back up. I do have 19 pretty cool staples in my head that will eventually need to come out. I'm going to start the bidding at $19.99 for that honor if there is any interest.

Take care and we'll be in touch!

The true test will be whether or not you can still play the drums like that guy from Pageant or the bass like that guy from that one band. He's good!

Seriously, I am so glad that you are recovering from your surgery.

WOW! You beat me! I only had 18 staples in my head and it never occurred to me to sell them! Glad you are doing well and your sense of humor is intact, not to mention your memory and ability to play drums!

Hey you could always pawn it off for fund raising for cancer research...

Seriously glad you came through it ok and I hope you get out today like you planned.

Always praying for you both.
Much love, Danielle

Love you, Stu. Keep your brain inside your skull and we'll get through this. I must say that some of the shots Candace shot reveal a nice shine on top of your dome. Good genetics are a good sign at this point. Hang tough, friend.

Glad your noggin is ok! Remember, you don't like wine or cats, you don't speak french and you're not a vegetarian. You like beer, dogs, and bratwurst! Pass the bacon.

Praise God that they didn't drill a hole in your sense of humor. Thanks for keeping up with your blog so we all can stop in here and check on your courageous story. I keep thinking about those "SMD" stickers you guys had. Glad they didn't carve those initials into your head. Got any photos of Steve and Susan on the scene? Love you all.

Stu,

Now you and Amanda can sing together for the "moon-shaped scar on the head" band.

It's great to know you were well enough to write a few words after this was done. It's great to know things are going well. We love you guys.
