A line in the sand...

I am scheduled to be admitted to Emory on December 29th. I'll be a first-ever New Year's Chemo Blow-out! Well, that didn't come out right. We don't want any 'blowing out' of anything chemo-related.

They are inquiring to see if I can have the port put in that same day I start treatment. Between now and then, I will get another PET/CT scan to see if the cancer is gone. Hey, no need for all that chemo if it is, right?

Time to savor Christmas -- feeling great -- and to remember what the season of Advent is all about. Something amazing is indeed soon to come.

Stu, I love you very much! Thanks for being who you are. I've loved seeing you around the church. You are a good man. I am glad to call you my friend. And I'll continue to be your friend port or not! Just think of the conversation starter having a port will be?!

I think Candace is right, we will have to have a party at Emory! I mean as long as you are surrounded by loved ones it's still a great reason to celebrate! praying for you as always! I will be coming to see you and bring games with me :)

Stuart and Candace, anybody who has the stamina to ride a bicycle across the state of Iowa year after year can surely beat cancer, by the grace of God!

Definitely make sure we have a way to reach you at Emory so we can send you stuff. Otherwise we'll have to caravan down in-person to find you!!!

Stuart, Jerry and I are standing with you for healing and for miraculously easy chemo effects. Your attitude is amazing and you and Candace are a true example of those who "overcome". We will be in Pensacola but there is no distance in the Spirit. We will also be "with" you. Love Always.

I'm sure in all your research you might have stumbled over this www.worldwithoutcancer.org.uk
I talked to a brother the other day who knows someone who is now cancer free without going through chemo. His situation might be a totally different one - just thought you might be encouraged to hear his story.

Stuart, my wife and I met your uncle William & Judy in the Keys last winter season. We will put you in our prayers that Jesus intercedes on your behalf and you can make a full recovery or remission.

Hey Stuart! Catching up on your blog today. God has chosen you for something and you are certainly stepping up. Thank you! One suggestion on option #4 from 12/16: Do you have the bible on CD? When fatigue sets in you can listen or listen and read. I can always get a "bigger picture" using audio because I can listen to more than I can read. Just a thought! Praying for you now and those around you. Carol Byrd/Soul Incision

Stuart,

You better have the nicest room in that place after getting GE to pay for two WEMBA's and me for another! If you'd like, I can have Leonard, Konzinksky, Rosensweig, Kanzanjian, and your favorite, Tom Thomas- stop by with some assignments to keep you occupied!! I'd like to sign up for your visitors list. It will be a long one.
